How
Important Are
Media Relations? |
|
The key to successful public relations is getting
your story told. Most companies believe that media
relationships are the most important asset an outside PR
firm brings to the table, according to the client
advisory committee of the Council of Public Relations.
So why is it that most of these same companies only give
a barely passing grade to their agencies?

Basic
Training |

Practicing the fundamentals of media placement correctly
will get you more than fancy tricks. Let’s face it – we
have gone from “Show me the glitter” to “Show me the
money.” It never hurts to bone up on the basics.

Winning
the Battle,
Losing the War? |
|
While the U.S. has demonstrated superior military might
in Afghanistan and Iraq, the war of public opinion in
the Middle East remains in doubt. This is a public
relations challenge of the highest magnitude.

Restoring
Trust
|
|
In the wake of many corporate scandals, public sentiment
has turned to greater distrust of most major
corporations. To help meet this challenge, the Public
Relations Coalition, a partnership of 19 U.S.-based
organizations, has developed a practical application
model to help restore trust in corporate America.

Credibility Counts!
A
clear majority of American consumers are more likely
to trust media reports than advertising, according to
a recent nationwide poll conducted by consumer
research company RoperASW .
The study
showed that 68% of participants place more weight on
news coverage than advertising when determining their
trust of individual companies, and 23% stated it had
the same value. Only 9% stated that advertising had greater
value.
The
nationwide survey was conducted on 1,147 members of
RoperASW's list of influential Americans.
